Business Description

Eddie Stobart is a leader in the multimodal logistics and warehousing sectors. It is one of the most recognised and strongest brands in Britain, best known for its iconic Eddie Stobart trucks. Today, Eddie Stobart is the name behind a road haulage fleet of some 2,200 trucks and over six million square feet of premium quality warehousing. Eddie Stobart meets the ambient and chilled distribution and warehousing requirements of a broad range of major name customers, as well as controlling a significant inland ports operation and the long running and successful rail freight services, which is the largest FMCG rail freight operation in the UK.

The company's Automotive division is Europe's leading car transportation business carrying vehicles on behalf of the continent's leading manufacturers including BMW, Nissan, VW Group and Land Rover.

By size, Eddie Stobart has the best vehicle utilisation in the industry, helping to maximise efficiency and environmental benefits.

Eddie Stobart has pioneered several environmental initiatives within the industry such as modal shift from road to rail with the Stobart Rail low-carbon service that brings fresh produce into the UK from southern Europe via the Channel Tunnel. Eddie Stobart's counter-part is also innovating with Stobart Biomass which reflects the company's emphasis on sustainability. This positions the businesses at the heart of the fast growing and transport intensive market for renewable energy.

The company was separated from the Stobart Group in April 2014 when a controlling stake was sold. The Stobart Group retains 49% in the company.
